Lomi Lomi Massage
Lomi Lomi is the ancient Hawaiian massage practiced based on the principles of the Huna.
Huna emphasizes practical living and harmony with three levels of consciousness or selves – the unihipili (subconscious, inner, emotional, intuitive), uhane (waking consciousness, rational) and aumakua (super-conscious, connection with the divine).
Traditional Hawaiian belief views Huna, similar to the concept of mana, as a vitalizing life force, which can, with knowledge of the three selves, be used to heal body and mind and achieve life goals.
Hawaiian Lomi Lomi uses whole body rhythmic movements like the flow of the ocean. The long flowing strokes allow the body to enter into deep relaxation, helping break patterns and blockages, thus, powerfully healing the whole body and assisting in health and balance.
TuiNa Chinese Massage
"Push and grasp" Tui na is a form of Chinese manipulative therapy I often use in conjunction with fire cupping, Chinese herbalism, and qigong. Also, Gua sha, literally "to scrape away fever" in Chinese, is an ancient medical treatment.
It is a hands-on body treatment that uses Chinese taoist and martial art principles in an attempt to bring into balance the eight principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine:
- Yin and Yang
- Hot and Cold
- Full and Empty (or Deficiency and Excess)
- Interior and Exterior
As a practitioner, I may brush, knead, roll/press and rub the areas between each of the joints (known as the eight gates) to open the body's defensive (wei) chi and get the energy moving in the meridians as well as the muscles.
TuiNa uses range of motion, traction, massage, with the stimulation of acupressure points; treating both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, as well as many non-musculoskeletal conditions.
Presence-Based Coaching
Inner Presence Coaching is a dynamic integration of Eastern Nondual Wisdom, Nonviolent Communication, Internal Family Systems and Depth Psychology.
This presence-based coaching supports clients to have experiential understandings and insights that occur while connecting to emotional/mental aspects of themselves as they emerge.
This is different from "talking about" or "stories about" or "having an intellectual understanding about" – all of which, though useful, can actually be ways to disconnect from the deeper feelings, thoughts or sensations of our emerging experience.
Benefits of Presence work include:
- Becoming Emotionally Literate at the Highest Level
- Hold Presence For Your Unconscious Desires/Wants/Beliefs
- Develop a High Capacity for Empathy and Compassion
- Have More Ease Effortlessly Emerge
- Open Yourself To The Timeless Present
- Bring Clarity To Your Inner World
